“The Obedient Perseverance of Faith”

Hebrews 11:8-12

Introduction

The Big Idea– Sometimes, the depth of your faith is crucial, while in other cases it is its length.

Background– How old was Abraham when he moved, then began waiting on the Lord?  And, how long did God have him wait?

(11:8) Faith sometimes calls you to go where you would never have expected, without understanding why.

(11:9-10) Faith sometimes calls you to stay where you are, not understanding why or seeing much progress.

(11:11-12) Faith sometimes gets to see amazing acts of God long after unbelievers would’ve given up on them.

The Bottom Line– If the Lord gave a baby in response to the faith of 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah, how difficult is it for Him to keep His promises to you?
