“Your Induction into the ‘Hall of Faith’”

Hebrews 11:39-40

Introduction

The Big Idea– If you choose to walk with the Lord by faith, you are a “Hall of Famer.”

The Big Picture:

Hebrews 1-10- Jesus (the Messiah, maker of the New Covenant, and object of faith) is better than anything Judaism has to offer.

Hebrews 11:1, 3- Faith (in Jesus) enables the believer to see beyond the visible world around you.

Hebrews 11:2, 4-38- From Abel all the way to the New Testament era, God has been pleased with those who trust Him.

Hebrews 11:6- God is not pleased when you choose not to trust Him, period—end of discussion.

Conclusion of All These Points (11:39)- The approval of God’s earlier people of faith doesn’t mean the “Hall of Faith” closed its membership.

The Bottom Line for You and Me (11:40)- The Lord left the “back door” of the “Hall of Faith” open for you.
