Salvation: The Two Sides of the Coin

“Salvation… from God’s Perspective”

Introduction

The Big Idea– Salvation is ultimately of the Lord, according to His eternal plan.

(Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1) Because of Adam’s (and Eve’s) sin, unsaved mankind became spiritually lost and dead.

(Ephesians 1:3-12) God was not surprised, however, by Adam’s and Eve’s sin, having already planned salvation.

(Romans 8:28-30) In one sense, every aspect of your salvation—initial faith, growth, glorification—is a “done deal.”

The Bottom Line– The sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man—whether we understand how both can be true or not, the Bible teaches both.  The more important of the two is God’s sovereign power in salvation.
